Wintergreen Mountain
Nelson County, Virginia

As Tommy’s Weather mentioned Sunday in the forecast, snow might make an appearance in Nelson County overnight Sunday into Monday morning. It did! And as of this post it’s still coming down up there. NCL Mountain Photographer Paul Purpura sent us the first shot around 9AM, then NCL Writer/Photographer Marcie Gates followed up with more pictures from the Devils Knob area over at Wintergreen Real Estate’s Discovery Ridge.

Photo By NCL Mountain Photographer Paul Purpura : Light to moderate snow began accumulating Monday morning at Wintergreen. Paul sent in this first shot from The Levels Condo unit around 9AM as the snow started.
Photo By Marcie Gates: Around 11:30 Monday morning temps in the valley portions of Nelson were at 47° but in the mountains where this shot was taken it was a cold 27° with snow continuing to fall!

As of this post around 11:30 AM Monday, no travel problems had been reported.

Tommy says light to moderate snow will continue to fall in the mountains of Nelson throughout the afternoon. Additional accumulations of 1-3 inches are possible in elevations above 2500 feet.
