Nelson’s Commonwealth Attorney Anthony Martin today announced a plea agreement involving numerous burglaries that took place in 2010 along River Road in Nelson County, Virginia.

The following statement was released Wednesday afternoon by the prosecutor’s office:

RE: TWO MEN PLEAD GUILTY TO AREA BURGLARIES
FROM: ANTHONY MARTIN, COMMONWEALTH’S ATTORNEY

Today (2.29.12) in Nelson County Circuit Court, two men pleaded guilty to a string of burglaries and larcenies occurring last year in the area of River Road in Faber, Virginia.

Robert Thomas (dob: March 1989) and Brodus Morris (dob: May 1987) both of Faber pleaded guilty to burglaries and grand larcenies involving 3 different homes. Both were involved in breaking and entering and taking property from three homes within a short walking distance from where the two were living. Both admitted to stealing a television, entertainment equipment, jewelry, scrap metal, copper wiring and plumbing, and a 12-gauge shotgun.

Both men will be sentenced later in the spring, and are being held without bond at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail. The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office was involved in the investigation and arrests.
