NCCF Grant Helps To Add More Nelson JAUNT’s

JAUNT is adding an additional transportation day in Nelson thanks to a NCCF grant.

JAUNT is pleased to announce that it now offers an additional day of Midday service to Charlottesville.

Starting Thursday, October 6, 2011, reservations can be made by any resident of Nelson County for door-to-door service to Charlottesville. The fare is $2.75 each way and $1.75 each way for passengers with disabilities or those age 60 and older. The bus arrives in Charlottesville in the morning and returns to Nelson County in the afternoon.
“We are very excited to offer this additional day of service,” said Donna Shaunesey, Executive Director of JAUNT, “Nelson County residents can now travel to Charlottesville four days a week.

We are very grateful to the Nelson County Community Fund for providing the funds in order to make this goal a reality.”
JAUNT Inc. is a regional transportation system providing service to the citizens of Albemarle, Buckingham, Charlottesville, Fluvanna, Louisa, and Nelson counties. The sixty-four vehicle fleet carries the general public, agency clients, senior citizens and people with disabilities throughout Central Virginia.
