You know summer has officially begun when the annual Batteau Festival kicks off with authentic period boats heading down the James River. The 2011 festival kicked off on June 18th in Lynchburg and wraps up on June 25th at Maidens Landing. NCL Photographer, Hayley Osborne, caught up with the crews Tuesday evening as they were pulling into Howardsville.
