Memorial Day Winds Down. Summer Ramps Up!

Memorial Day Weekend was a hot one in Nelson! On Memorial Day itself temps reached the mid and upper 90’s for afternoon highs in the valley with and an 82° high in the mountains of Nelson. Lots of people took to the water. Lake Monacan officially opened over the holiday weekend. Perfect time with the heat.

If folks weren't in the water, they weren't far away. These youngsters spent much of the hot afternoon on the shores of Lake Monocan.
Upon on the mountain at Wintergreen Resort people enjoyed a cooler Festival of Wines this past Sunday afternoon over the holiday weekend. John Taylor left, and wife Nanci with Wintergreen Performing Arts help folks with a wine tasting.
Cardinal Point Winery & Vineyard here in Nelson was just one of the many wines on hand at this year's annual festival.
