Temecula, California
Anyone that’s been around Nelson for very long will no doubt remember Jacob Allen. For years he was part of Hobojac until the duo finally called it quits and each went out own on their own. Today Jacob lives in California and is working on his solo career.
Jacob is now competing in a national talent search. The Texaco Country Showdown Songwriting Competition. His very own song (Southern Love – play here from is ReverbNation page- top selection) is competing against several other musical artists across the country.
Jacob chatted with us Tuesday night and is asking all of his fans back here on the east coast and in Nelson to cast a vote for him online in the competition. Simply go to the contest page here: http://www.countryshowdown.com/Texaco/contestant.php?id=20021 You’ll have to do a quick registration, but that’s it. Then you can vote and support Jacob in the competition that runs until May 31st 2011. “Once they have voted, they are allowed one vote per contestant per day. The concept is simple, the song with the most votes at the end of May wins the monthly competition. There are six of these. The winners of each month are then judged by a group of Nashville judges and the winning song of the six gets a cash prize and a promotional deal with a publishing company!! It is an awesome opportunity for me. Every vote is key,” Jacob told us Tuesday night.
You can also follow Jacob here on his Facebook page to see what he’s up to these days out west!
Let’s send Jacob to Nashville!!
