Rain Turns To Snow At Wintergreen Resort Sunday Evening

We’ve been putting up with a lot of rain all day Sunday (3.6.11) but as the colder air began working in Sunday evening, rain turned to snow in the mountains at Wintergreen. We’ve also go reports of snow from Montebello and Afton Mountain as well. Around 6:40 PM our NCL Mountain Photographer, Paul Purpura reported moderate snow falling that was starting to cover the roads at Wintergreen.

3.6.11 rain — Photo By Tommy Stafford : Down below in the Rockfish Valley over 2 inches of rain had fallen by Sunday evening.

Rainfall and snow will end Sunday night by midnight with sunny skies returning on Monday.
