Nelson County Sheriff , David Brooks, says his agency and US Marshals arrested Johnny Webb Miller and Christy Lynn Voneitzen in a wooded area off of the 1900 block of Chapel Hollow Road in Afton early Tuesday afternoon. “The pair had set up a makeshift camp in the woods there. We’re not sure how long the two had been there,” Sheriff Brooks told NCL Tuesday afternoon as police were bringing the pair out of the woods. Both were wanted on federal and state charges.
The US Marshal’s service participated in the arrest after they received a tip the couple might be in the wooded area. Albemarle County Police brought in their K-9 dog unit to assist in the search. “Mr. Miller told me he was glad it was over as they were being lead out,” Sheriff Brooks continued.
The pair are being held in The Charlottesville/Albemarle Corrections Complex pending their initial court appearance.
