A wide variety of winter weather bulletins have been posted across Central Virginia for impending snowy conditions by Wednesday afternoon. Here in Nelson a Winter Storm Watch takes effect Wednesday afternoon. Right now amounts between 4 to 6″ are forecast for the valley portions of Nelson with higher amounts possible in the mountains by Wednesday night.
Along and west of The Blue Ridge Parkway, a Winter Storm Warning begins just after daylight Wednesday morning. Amounts between 4 to 8 inches are possible in this area by Wednesday night.
Precipitation will begin as rain late this evening and may mix with snow or sleet as we approach Wednesday morning. Then the mixed precipitation should change to all snow late in the day Wednesday into the nighttime hours ending by the predawn hours Thursday.
