No worries about the ice thawing at the soon to open Shamokin Ice Rink at Wintergreen Resort. The newly completed ice skating rink is scheduled to open to the public this coming weekend. Though there’s plenty of modern refrigeration to keep the ice perfect, temps haven’t broken freezing at Wintergreen all week long.
The Shamokin Ice rink is where a swimming pool was located between The Edge and The Copper Mine restaurants. The new 45x90 foot rink will accommodate up to 60 people per session.
The new ice rink is just one of many improvements the resort made during the past year.
It had been years since Meredith Hansen had been on ice skates. But she picked it right back up during a Tuesday test session.
