This school season has been a big one for The Nelson County High Lady Govs Volleyball Team. This year the Lady Govs are 9-1 after beating Appomattox Tuesday afternoon (October 12, 2010) here in Lovingston. They defeated Appomattox in the three games played. (25-6, 25-18, and 25-13) Our NCL Mountain Photographer, Paul Purpura headed down to Lovingston to grab the shots.

Tuesday’s game was a special one to support breast cancer awareness. “That’s the reason why the Lady Gov’s are wearing pink. The proceeds from the game went to the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, a national foundation for breast cancer research. The Lady Gov’s picked this foundation,” Paul tells us.
