Central Virginia Electric Cooperative (CVEC) retires corporate computers after about 5 years of use and will donate them to local non-profit groups. A literacy group in Nelson County and a training group in Louisa received the computers in 2009 and both of those groups are using them to help individuals learning to read and acquire new skills.
Currently, CVEC has four computers and three monitors available for non-profit group that would put them to good use. The computers can be viewed on the CVEC Facebook page and interested non-profits from Central Virginia should post an expression of interest regarding the computers. Visit: http://www.facebook.com/myCVEC
CVEC will announce what non-profits will receive the computers during this round of donations on Friday, September 24 at 5:00 p.m. CVEC will post additional computer equipment on its Facebook page as it becomes available.
Central Virginia Electric Cooperative is a member-owned, not-for-profit, electric utility serving the rural portions of 14 Virginia counties.
CVEC ~ working to improve lives in a quietly impressive way …..just like they have since 1937. How nice not to be served by some money-grabbing investor-owned utility, but actually an electric company that gives back to the community. Thanks, CVEC!
