Come out to Stoney Creek Bar & Grill as the areas newest Americana Folk sensation Misty Strings takes the stage Friday August 20th, 2010 at 7:30 pm.
Misty Strings are an Americana Folk band from Charlottesville, Virginia inspired by bluegrass, old-time music and true mountain country. The group formed in early Winter 2010 with three members and quickly proved their ability to write and perform their original blend of acoustic material. Original members Tara Mills, John Howard and Jason Collier often invite local and regional talent to sit in on live performances. All three have different musical backgrounds but unite their eclectic blend that lends to the musical stylings of Misty Strings. Tara Mills handles Vocals and Acoustic Rhythm while bringing her hauntingly beautiful lyrics to life. Jason Collier dives into his guitar with life-breathing solos and melodic tones. John Howard brings vocal harmonies and his brand of post-punk guitar to his mandolin while filling in the cracks with harmonica melodies. Misty Strings is moving quickly booking many local shows and hitting on the Festival circuit so try to catch a live performance you will not be disappointed.
