  1. The information reported in your article is not correct. My best friend Robert Clark and his wife were getting ready to paddle their canoe together as they had done many times before. Robert had dropped Shirley off at Rucker run on the Tye River with the canoe and gear and then driven to Wingina to leave the car. Then he rode his scooter back up to the put-in. This way they only need one car for shuttle. Again this procedure had been done on many trips before. When Robert got back from wingina and ready to go down-river, thats when he found shirley and called 911.

  2. Thanks for providing additional info Mr. Holt. While we make every attempt to be totally accurate, preliminary information is almost always inaccurate to some degree. Obviously our emergency services sources didn’t have some of the total facts at the time of the story , but rather the general story correct. Regardless, our sincerest sympathies go out to Mr. Clark. A terrible tragedy.

  3. As someone who used to work for Robert and his wife, I would just like to send my condolences. RIP Mrs.Shirley.
