Wine into summer surrounded by the majestic views of the Blue Ridge at Wintergreen Winery’s annual Memorial Weekend Celebration on Saturday, May 29th and Sunday, May 30th from Noon until 6pm each day. Taste each of the winery’s current vintages. Plan to stay awhile and take in the scenery with a picnic on the banks of the Rockfish River and enjoy live music on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Saturday will feature the rock-roll-soul of Charlottesville’s The Rogan Brothers Band. Sunday’s guests will be treated to the alternative folk trio Misty Strings and the Delta blues duo Lascivious Deacons. The $10 daily admission fee per adult (children are free) includes the wine tasting, live music, a souvenir wine glass, door prize drawings, use of the winery grounds and riverside picnic areas plus wine and gift shop specials. The event will be held rain or shine. Light picnic fare, wines and non-alcoholic beverages will be available to purchase to enjoy on winery grounds. Please note there will be no live music and no admission fee on Memorial Day (Monday). Wintergreen Winery is surrounded by beautiful mountain views and is located approximately 35 minutes from Charlottesville in the Rockfish Valley of Nelson County near Wintergreen Resort and the Blue Ridge Parkway.
