Wintergreen
Nelson County, Virginia
As the mountains warm across the Blue Ridge, that signal the time for the annual Wintergreen Nature Foundation Spring Wildflower Symposium. The even was held this past weekend at TWNF and included many walks through the mountains where people could see endless varieties of wildflowers in the mountains of Wintergreen. Our Paul Purpura went along for the walk and grabbed a few shots along the way!
Mountain Laurel is abundant in the Blue Ridge. Just one of the beautiful varieties folks got to see this past weekend. TWNF, Executive Director, Doug Coleman, closely examines one of the many wildflowers along the hike during the symposium. Merideth Young, a local Heards Mountain artist, displays some of her work at this weekend's symposium. Ann DeWitt Brroks from Richmond, VA examines a piece of junko during the symposium walk.
