Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell appeared Friday night at Wintergreen Resort to speak to members of The Virginia Forestry Association at their 2010 convention held here in Nelson County.
The Governor stressed how important forestry is in Virginia. He also spoke about how drilling off the coast for oil would create much needed jobs.
On Monday Governor McDonnell Participates in Earth Week with a Hike and Tree Planting with Students In Woodbridge and Richmond.
Preseumably the Governor stressed the offshore drilling and related jobs to demonstrate the importance of those forests in 60 or so milllion years when they turn into petroleum to replace that being extracted today.
or perhaps to demonstrate the importance of being self sufficient and not held hostage for fuel…
