After an afternoon in court, both Griffin and Meeks were bound over to the May 25th meeting of the grand jury where evidence will be presented for an indictment. If the indictment or true bill, as it sometimes referred to, is returned, the two will then begin the process for trial in circuit court. Nelson County Sheriff, David Brooks, says some of the afternoon testimony, included the discussion of stab wounds to Opal Page on the day of her murder, in addition to other evidence disclosed.

Austin Griffin and Christopher Meeks, charged in the May 6, 2009 first degree murder of Opal Page will appear in Nelson General District Court at 2PM today. The pair will appear for a preliminary hearing in connection with the murder of the retired Rockfish River Elementary teacher’s aid.

  1. Can’t wait until the day I don’t have to support these 2 worthless pieces of trash anymore. Bring on the executioner!

  2. I hope austin burns in hell bt I would have nvr thought chris was capable of something like this. They both deserve wat they get sorry to say

  3. These boys are going to get what they have comming to them but you all have to remember their family’s read this, they have feelings too! i dont support theses guys one bit with what they have done but you all talking about what should be done with theses guys isnt going to make it happen any sooner. What ever goes on with them their family’s are going to suffer more then anythiing, they suffer from the news of their childeren doing this, they suffer from everyone saying bad things about their childern, and they suffer knowing what might happen to them, and they will suffer for years after it happens to them. Mrs. paige will be greatly missed but talking bad about them isnt going to bring her back. Give it a rest.

  4. I dont like what people are saying about my cousin chris. it suprise me a lot and i thought he would never do anything like this i think that my cousin didnt do it but i think that austin did all this i know that chris stole the car but i think austin should get the death penalty. I love my cousin no matter what he did although it was wrong.
