Nelson County, Virginia
Snow continued for much of Tuesday up in the mountains of Nelson County. Most news outlets and even the NWS didn’t realize that places such as Wintergreen Resort, Montebello, and others along the Blue Ridge got a respectable 3-5 additional inches of new snow by the time it ended Tuesday afternoon. In the valley it snowed, it just didn’t stick.
Larry Luessen up at Wintergreen commented to our site saying, “Well, we had more snow on the mountain between 11 AM and 2 PM while we were skiing — about 2 additional inches. Great powder, great skiing, and great scenery. High of 27 degrees … we had 3-4 inches of new snow up here. Get ready for some great Spring skiing!”
John Taylor commented around 2PM saying, “At the top of Wintergreen Mountain near the Highlands slopes the ruler-in-the-driveway test is showing 3″ of fluffy and still coming down.”
By the weekend falling snow will be a memory. Temps are forecast to be in the mid 50’s to near 60° with plenty of sunshine!
