For the 6th year in a row, Volvo of Charlottesville is partnering with the UVa Children’s Hospital in an effort to raise money to fight pediatric cancer. The 6th Annual Drive for Life is February 19-27, 2010. During our Drive for Life, Volvo of Charlottesville will donate $20 for every Volvo test drive and $100 for every Volvo sold to the UVa Children’s Hospital.
The University of Virginia Children’s Hospital records nearly 100,000 visits every year and is a leading center for children’s healthcare. Patients receive newborn and pediatric emergency services, outpatient treatments, and even long-term rehabilitative care. Much of their funding comes from donations, and we are proud to be a part of their fundraising efforts.
From February 19th through the 27th, Volvo of Charlottesville will donate $20 for every Volvo test drive and $100 for every Volvo sold to the UVa Children’s Hospital. We will also be accepting cash donations on the Hospital’s behalf. All proceeds benefit pediatric cancer research and treatment. There will be giveaways for every donation including Volvo gear, Wintergreen passes, gift certificates, event tickets and more. Plus we have a variety of events (see website for more details):
Friday, Feb. 19: Kickoff Party! Mac McDonald will host “In Bounds” from the Volvo showroom 3-6pm. Mac is not only an award-winning sportscaster, he is also a member of the UVa Children’s Hospital Committee. Prizes and giveaways throughout the broadcast.
Saturday, Feb 20: Girl Scout Day! 10am-4pm. Local Girl Scouts work with Volvo technicians to earn their Car Care and Car Sense badges. Catering by Chef Ted.
Wednesday, Feb 24: Blood Drive! 1-5pm. Virginia Blood Services supplies vital blood components to patients in hospitals throughout Central Virginia, including the UVa Children’s Hospital. Donation stations will be set up on the Volvo showroom floor. Call to schedule your donation time.
Saturday, Feb 27: Grand Finale! Prizes and giveaways 10am-4pm. Grand Prize is a 2 Night Stay in a 2 Bedroom at Wintergreen with 4 Entertainment Passes. Drawing at 1pm.
