Nelson County, Virginia
Most people in Nelson got to thaw out a tiny bit on Sunday and will get that luxury once again Monday as temps will rise above freezing in the valley portions of the county for a few hours. Ample sunshine will help in the cleanup of of this past weekend’s winter storm that dumped anywhere from a foot to 18″ across Nelson County.
CVEC line crews are still working to restore power to customers across the area. You can keep up with their progress by heading over to their Facebook Fan Page here.
Just as we finished up with one storm and have taken a little break, another is well on the way arriving by tomorrow into Wednesday. A complex winter weather system is making its way across the country right now and will begin affecting our weather by Tuesday. Right now it appears the brunt of this storm will head to our north on onward to New England. But, it’s likely to have a significant impact on our travel conditions as well. A Winter Storm Watch was issued late Monday for Nelson and much of the area.
As we have been doing since the December 18-19 blizzard, we will continue to update here and over on our Facebook page at Nelson Mag.
