Since this was a heavy wet blanketing snow, branches breaking out of trees has been a real problem. Central Virginia Electric and every other power company have been working around the clock trying to get the lights back on for their customers. At its peak CVEC reported 10,000 + customers in the dark across their entire system in all of the counties served. By nightfall only a few hundred customers in Nelson County remained without power. They were the hardest ones, and repairs will go into Sunday and perhaps beyond.
