Nelson County, Virginia
After a long Saturday indoors, people are beginning to venture out this Sunday. Between 8 and 12 inches of snow fell across Nelson County with the second storm of this winter season pounding the area. Though at least a foot shy of December’s, this storm was still a significant one.

As of Saturday night, most roads in Nelson remained snow packed, but the major highway were passable with care. VDOT continues plowing to get roads in shape for easier travel.

After a very cold night Saturday with temperature readings near 0° on the mountains and near 10° in the valley, sbundant sunshine returns Sunday with temps in the valley briefly inching to the mid 30’s.
There’s another chance for a winter mix on Tuesday night and then again toward week’s end.
