Nelson County, Virginia
A Winter Storm Warning continues this Saturday until 11PM tonight was canceled at 9:43 PM Saturday night. Snow began falling in the pre-dawn hours across Nelson County and much of Virginia. Just before daylight amounts varying from 2-3 inches had fallen with a total snowfall accumulation of 6-12 inches possible before the snow ends this evening. The heaviest snow will fall in the morning hours of Saturday into the afternoon and begin tapering off by evening.
Most area roads are now reported as slick and hazardous, though snowplows are out this morning in Nelson. Both I-64 and US 29 are reported as being slick with some scattered accidents across the area.
Generally speaking, the heavier snowfall amounts will be in southern areas, even here in Nelson.
