Lawmen continued their search Wednesday morning for 39 year old Christopher Speight. Police say he’s their prime suspect in a killing spree that’s left eight people dead there. Our original coverage here.
As of late Tuesday night police had a wooded area of Appomattox County surrounded and were using night vision equipment, infrared seeking gear, and other high tech law enforcement tools to help find the fugitive. Though police say Speight is still in the area, they are looking for specific vehicles that might indicate he’s left the area. Persons close to the tragedy tell us Speight is most likely heavily armed, and may have some military gear style munitions and gear of his own. Earlier in the day lawmen say Speight is responsible for shooting at a Virginia State Police chopper, hitting it four times causing it to land with a fuel leak.
