Nelson County, Virginia
The first day of the Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend kicked of with a brilliant display of color just before sunrise. Temps on Friday were almost Spring like with afternoon highs reaching 64° in the Rockfish Valley at our NCL Weathernet Station and even a very pleasant 49° up top at 3500 feet on our Devils Knob station at The Wintergreen Nature Foundation.

Temps today will be equally as nice with mid and upper 50’s in the valley and lower 50’s in the mountainous regions of Nelson County. A developing storm system will bring a widespread soaking rain to the area for the second half of the holiday weekend. Rain will likely start after midnight Saturday night and continue into the evening hours Sunday before giving way to partly sunny skies on Monday with temps still fairly pleasant in the 50’s valley and 40’s mountains.

Have a great weekend!
