Unity in Community, a community-based outreached ministry that has put together Christmas baskets since its inception two years ago, will be providing more than 30 local families with a basket full of food and small gifts to make this year’s holiday just a little bit brighter.

“Our goal is to help those less fortunate than ourselves,” said the group’s founder, Delores (DeeDee) Green. “I believe working together we can be a part of a solution for a better tomorrow for our whole community.”

DeeDee worked together in 2007 with the 14 Tye River Valley Churches to start Unity in Community as an outreach “referral agency” to help struggling Nelson County families.
Unity in Community is always looking for new members and church representatives.
