Nelson County, Virginia
A potent developing weather system promises the chance for the first widespread snowfall of the season across Nelson and Central Virginia on Saturday. The greatest threat for significant accumulating snow is to our west in far Western Virginia, but a 1-3 inch swath of snow is possible here in Nelson. The higher amounts would obviously be in the mountains at locations such as Wintergreen Resort, Love, Montebello, etc.

Accuweather.com does a good job of explaining the setup of the approaching storm here.

Forecasters vary a bit regarding accumulations possible on Saturday, but the consensus of all sources points to at least some snow accumulation as a low pressure area tracks up the East Coast on Saturday. How much snow we get will depend on how much rain mixes in with the snow and how cold the ground gets before the snow begins.

At this point, well worth keeping any eye on and we will be monitoring the storm all weekend long with frequent updates!
