Though the skies threatened rain, folks turned out for a benefit this past Friday evening at Cardinal Point Winery & Vineyard to benefit The Blue Ridge Interfaith Ministries, a local, very diverse, grass-roots charity, based here in Nelson County. Tiger Lily was on hand to to perform with folks dancing into the night.

“Money raised for Blue Ridge Interfaith Ministries goes to helping those in need in the Nelson-Albemarle-Amherst-Augusta area (mostly with fuel and utility bills, but sometimes with other hardships like medical expenses, funeral expenses, and summer camp scholarships). Whenever possible, we refer those in need to the relevant agencies, but there are still many people who fall through the cracks of our social services system, or whose emergency financial need may not fall neatly into the domain of any particular agency. Those are the people we are trying to help,” says Karen James with BRIFM.
