Nothing, nothing was going to stop Tim Gorman from having a skateboard park in Nelson County, Virginia. For months and months Tim has been quietly, and sometimes not so quietly, raising money to begin construction of the first phase at The Rockfish Valley Community Center in Afton, Virginia. Within the past few days, Tim and other volunteers began construction on the park. Tim founded Sk8Nelson about a year ago.

All of the money for the first phase of construction was raised a month or so ago.

Tim says his long term plans for the park include additional concrete structures and ramps to compliment the half pipe.
