Nelson County, Virginia
Most of Memorial Day weekend went off without rain, though skies looked threatening for the last half of the holiday. Overnight Monday some pretty heavy thunderstorms formed in the southern part of Nelson around Tyro and Massies Mill, eventually moving into the northern sections of the county. Some of those locations had heavy rainfall as the slow moving storms worked across the county.
A stalled frontal boundary will keep chances for thunderstorms and rain showers in the forecast for most of the week, but nice weather returns just in time for the weekend.!
Regarding the storms on Monday night: Our power was out from ~ 9:10 PM – 11:40 PM (Stoney Creek). While 2.5 miles away – my co-workers experienced no outage. Anyone have any idea how wide-spread the power outages were?
I had power up here on Devil’s Knob.
Even the TV cable stayed up.
