After a run of dreary days with drizzle and rain, the weekend is shaping up to be much better. Friday holds the chance of showers and even scattered thunderstorms.As of 7 AM Friday morning we had already picked up 3/4 of an inch of rain in the past 24 hours at our NCL Weathernet Station here in the Rockfish Valley. On the mountain at our NCL-Wintergreen Nature Foundation station, we have recorded 2.63 inches of rain in the past 24 hours as of 7 AM Friday.
It will become windy throughout the day with a WIND ADVISORY in effect from 2 PM until midnight. Expect winds with gusts as high as 45 MPH later in the day. By Saturday sunny skies and warmer temps move into the area through Sunday. Gusty winds continue though. By late Sunday chances for rain reenter the forecast through Tuesday morning, Even the chance for some light snow Monday night!!
Temperatures will be very chilly, almost cold for the first part of next week, moderating slightly by Wednesday.
