It was a crowded saloon (uh, ballroom) Saturday night up at Wintergreen Resort as sharp shooters and gamers, along with guys and gals put on their western best to raise money at this year’s Wintergreen Performing Arts’ Casino Night. Our Paul Purpura saddled up and grabbed these shots.

Before the Casino Night began, folks had a pre-party roundup at Pryor's Porch complete with wine, appetizers, and a live auction.

This year's auction included some really nice items like a stay at a golf resort in Ireland, tickets to a Kennedy Center performance, a stay on historic St. Charles Avenue in New Orleans, a dinner for ten, and a one week cruise for two in either Alaska, New England, or Panama/Mexico.

This year’s grand prize was one week at the Wyndham Harbour Lights in downtown San Diego from September 5-12, 2009. Horton Plaza Mall is within 2 blocks; the historic Gaslamp Quarter features Victorian-style buildings with sidewalk cafes, fine art galleries, specialty shops and entertainment; the Sea Port Village has live entertainment, restaurants and beautiful views of San Diego Bay and Coronado Island. And this is all before the Casino Night really got started!

Each lucky guest received 10K in gaming money along with 5 stage prize tickets and a light buffet dinner.

Games Saturday night included Texas Hold 'Em, Craps, Roulette, Black Jack & Horse Racing.

The money raised from this weekend’s event will be used to help fund Wintergreen Performing Arts. The 2009 season will get underway in just a few weeks. Click here for more over at WPA’s website.
