The Hamner Theater announces the opening of the third play of its 2008-2009 season, Quartet, by Richard Washer on Wednesday, April 1. This lyrical new play by DC playwright Richard Washer portrays a reunion haunted by memory and hints of unrequited love, as former members of a string quartet recall long-ago events, seen from each person’s viewpoint in turn.
Performances of Quartet will take place at 7:30pm on Wednesday – Sunday, April 1 – 5 and Wednesday – Friday, April 8 – 10. There will be a free Preview Tuesday, March 31 at 7:30pm. Opening Night performance, Wednesday, April 1, will be followed by a champagne reception. Talk-back sessions with playwright Richard Washer and members of the cast and crew will be held after both Friday performances. All tickets are $10, at the door, or by reservation at (434)361-1999.
