Wintergreen Resort
Nelson County, Virginia

The days are getting longer, warmer, and minds are focused on swimming pools and lazy days in the sun. But…. the folks at Wintergreen Resort had one last run Sunday at their annual Pond Skimming event. A special thank you to Paul Purpura, our Mountain Photographer, who day after day, week after week, makes sure the images from the mountain are captured for you to see here. Paul lives on the mountain, so he sees lots of what’s happening up there. Thanks Paul for the great pics, month after month!

Temps on the mountain were nice, but still cool for a trip across water in March!

The annual event, though judged in some form, is more about fun and signaling the end of the snow sports season.

  2. Great photos, Paul! Did you get any shots of my attempts at pond skimming? I’d love to get copies.
