Piney River
Nelson County, Virginia

In some places it’s squirrel stew, or raccoon suppers. Here, for the 51st time the folks at The Piney River Fire Department in Southern Nelson County, Virginia got together this past weekend for their annual chitt’lin dinner. So just what’s a chitt’lin, for those of you that don’t know? If you you need to ask you don’t want to know.

NCL’s Hayley Osborne was brave enough to grab these shots for us at the 2009 event held on Saturday. Hayley was also brave enough to try out one of the chitt’lins. I’ll let you ask her about the dining experience!
