Nelson County, Virginia

Folks awoke to a beautiful landscape of snow Tuesday morning after roughly 5 inches of snow fell in the mountains of Nelson County, Virginia. The snow started about two hours before dark on Monday afternoon and continued into the nighttime hours. Our Paul Purpura just returned with these beautiful shots! Thank you Paul!

In the valley below 1500 feet some snow fell, but less than an inch was measured in most locations.

Since buses were not able to run in the mountains of Nelson County, schools were closed.

WPOA crews did a fantastic job of keeping the roads clear while the snow fell.
