Nelson County, Virginia
Folks who use Wachovia online banking probably noticed the screen above Tuesday when logging into their online banking. The merger between Wachovia and Wells Fargo became official with the statement above from CEO, John Stumpf.

This is of particular interest to many Nelson County customers since Wachovia has a busy branch located in Nellysford, Virginia with several others in nearby adjoining counties.

  1. Another circle complete. I opened my first Wells Fargo account in the Yosemite Valley office in 1974. I still have the checkbook cover from that account, although I closed it when we moved from Nevada to Chicagoland two years later.

  2. You know Greg, we have used WF as out gateway to accept credit cards for customers both here in the magazine and in a previous mail order company that we eventually sold. ( http://www.ruralroot.com ) We had great experiences on both accounts! Almost used them for home mortgage on our move from TN to VA years ago, but their program didn’t quite work for what we were doing. But again, I haven’t had any negative experiences with them ever. We love the tellers in the local Wachovia here, but have never been Wachovia (the company) fans…Looking forward WF coming on board!
