Wintergreen – Nelson County, Virginia
It’s been rain for most of the afternoon down in the valley, but some folks have been seeing ice up on the mountains. Our Paul Purpura grabbed a few shots of the ice forming on his car as well as some of the trees and plants up there above 2000 feet.
A Winter Weather Advisory continues in effect until 11 PM Tuesday night for Nelson County, Virginia. Temperatures are expected to ever so slowly rise overnight turning everything to plain rain. But there will continue to be pockets of freezing temps out there, so be careful.
At 7 PM EST our NCL-TWNF station up at Devils Knob (3500 feet) was reporting a temperature just below freezing at 31.6 degrees. Here in the valley at NCL-Nelson County Life Magazine in Greenfield it was just above freezing at 32.9 degrees.
Again a slow rise in temps toward daylight should allow everything to change to plain rain. We should see quite a bit of rain overnight into Wednesday afternoon. Look for breezy conditions moving in Wednesday night into Thursday.
Look for a complete wrap up of all the day’s weather and the forecast later tonight over in Tommy’s Weather.
