Wintergreen Resort – Nelson County, Virginia
In spite of warmer than average temperatures, tourism visits to Nelson County over the Christmas / New Year’s Holiday have been strong. Though temps halted snow making at times, enough cold air has been in place to keep the slopes going and visitors happy!
A very strong cold front will move into the area Wednesday dropping temperatures dramatically New Year’s Eve night into the New Year. Look for readings in the teens upon the mountain as the new year begins Thursday morning. Snow making will be no problem with the much colder weather moving in.

Nothing warms the spirit more than seeing so many people enjoying Wintergreen during the holidays. With occupancy at the Resort approaching 100% over the next few days and cold temperatures (currently 27 degrees on the Mountain) allowing for round-the-clock snow making, the new year is ringing in with lots of winter fun.
