Wintergreen – Nelson County, Virginia
The start to this year’s ski season is in stark contrast to those of past years at Wintergreen Resort in Nelson County, Virginia. The weather forecast has been cooperating for the past several weeks which has allowed the resort to make plenty of snow very early in the season thanks to a colder than average November.
A soft opening occurred at the resort last weekend, but with temps now in the low and mid teens at night and daytime highs most of the weekend in the 20’s, it will be about as good as it gets to keep the snow going…and the skiing!

According to the AP wire, this past weekend there were about 1,300 guests visiting the resort. Some may have been looking at NCL for weather, local events, and places to dine
