Nellysford – Nelson County, Virginia

We first told you about David Hall’s personal crusade to get a fountain installed at the entrance of Stoney Creek Golf Course in Nellysford, last month, here.

Today David proudly dedicated the fountain and it officially opened to the public with a fitting ceremony recognizing the sponsors who put up the money to have the fountain installed.

Since the pond was a bit too large for a ribbon cutting, Wintergreen Fire Department fired a water stream over the course to the pond starting the dedication.

  1. I’ve known David for over 30 years and wherever he has been he has left an unusually creative imprint on the lives of individuals and the communities. This is his latest tribute, this time to his newfound love for the Wintergreen area.

  2. Attaboy “Brier.” Thirty years is like an afternoon in the park. Dave and I are cousins (our mothers were sisters) and when he and I were young, dinosaurs ruled the earth. You guys are lucky to have a sparkplug like Dave in your beautiful community. Sorry I couldn’t be there for the big day.

  3. I grew up with David’s wife, Elizabeth, and the second time I met him was at her 40th birthday surprise (almost!) slumber party at their home, orchestrated by David. Not only did he take the kids to a motel for the night, but appeared the next morning to cook for us — banana walnut waffles.* I was duly impressed, so I’m not surprised that he has more great ideas up his sleeve
and the determination and enthusiasm to follow them through. Sparkplug’s a good description.

*Cleaned the kitchen, too, of course.
