Homestead-Olivia
Olivia Harris of a.m. Fog Shows Off One of The Homestead Creamery Varieties
Afton, Virginia

Most of you know by now that Yvette and I are expecting a child in the fall of this year. Yea, she’s been drinking the milk lots to keep up the calcium! She’s always liked Homestead Creamery milk. You know, it comes in those classic glass bottles, not far off of the kind the milkman used to deliver in simpler times. Most of the stores around here carried it, then one day she walked in and no more! Gone.

Folks this is one popular brand of milk and it’s the best around. No artificial hormones, and about as close to the cow as it comes! Yea, move over happy steer, we’ve got the happy cow now! As soon as Ken and Yvonne Harris up at a.m. Fog heard about this they jumped all over it! And, yep! They have the whole line of Homestead Creamery milk products in the familiar glass bottles, right there in their market on the Nelson-Albemarle County line on Route 151.

HC-Bottle-1
Nothing’s quite as good as a cold glass of milk from one of those chilled bottles!

And now you can get Homestead Creamery milk just up the road at a.m. Fog. along with all of your vegetables, plants and nursery needs to boot!

You can always visit them on the web at www.amfog.net or call ’em at 540-456-7100

Congrats to Wintergreen Performing Arts for a perfect launch to their Summer season earlier this week. Our Paul Purpura captured all of the opening festivities. You can view many more of the pics by clicking here. They put on spectacular performances all year long, but the summer is the highlight of the season. Don’t miss the next performance, find out more by heading to their website here.

The last couple of the days of the week ended with lots of cloudiness on Thursday, some fog Friday morning, and then sunshine to round things out. On Thursday ragged clouds behind a cold front that pushed through hung in the area keeping temperatures down in the mid 80’s for pretty much everyone.

Friday will be mostly sunny as will Saturday and much of Sunday.

There’s lots of events taking place this weekend. One of them is a Car & Motorcycle Show over at Sparrow’s Cafe in The Village At Glen Mary. This event will have lots of neat cars and bikes, but a group will also be there raising money to help out Heather Collins, a wonderful young lady that was in a tragic car accident last month. We told you about her earlier in the week here. Please drop by and help them out if you can. She’s got a long road to recovery ahead.

Over at Cardinal Point Winery, Jan Smith (our favorite here at NCL!) will be playing in the afternoon. Then later in the night at Veritas as part of their Starry Nights, Abbey Road will be playing. There’s lots more happening as well. Simply click here to view our datebook , and click here to see more events at The Nelson County Tourism site.

Scattered afternoon thunderstorms move back in the forecast by Sunday afternoon and evening into Monday, as a weak cold front slips through the area. But, temperatures will remain warm for the period, cooling slightly early next week.
