Homestead-Olivia
Olivia Harris of a.m. Fog Shows Off One of The Homestead Creamery Varieties
Afton, Virginia

Most of you know by now that Yvette and I are expecting a child in the fall of this year. Yea, she’s been drinking the milk lots to keep up the calcium! She’s always liked Homestead Creamery milk. You know, it comes in those classic glass bottles, not far off of the kind the milkman used to deliver in simpler times. Most of the stores around here carried it, then one day she walked in and no more! Gone.

Folks this is one popular brand of milk and it’s the best around. No artificial hormones, and about as close to the cow as it comes! Yea, move over happy steer, we’ve got the happy cow now! As soon as Ken and Yvonne Harris up at a.m. Fog heard about this they jumped all over it! And, yep! They have the whole line of Homestead Creamery milk products in the familiar glass bottles, right there in their market on the Nelson-Albemarle County line on Route 151.

HC-Bottle-1
Nothing’s quite as good as a cold glass of milk from one of those chilled bottles!

And now you can get Homestead Creamery milk just up the road at a.m. Fog. along with all of your vegetables, plants and nursery needs to boot!

You can always visit them on the web at www.amfog.net or call ’em at 540-456-7100

Monday started out beautiful with mostly sunny skies. But, by mid morning those puffy cumulus clouds were already building west of the BRP like the ones in the photo above. That was the trend for much of the day with scattered thunderstorms developing for most of the afternoon. Several counties to the south and east went under severe thunderstorm warnings late in the day. Some locations in Nelson picked up a half inch or better of rain in the downpours.

Look for pretty much the same forecast today. We’ll start with some morning fog where the showers occurred last night, with partly sunny skies in the morning and scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms. It remains humid with thunderstorm chances until Thursday when high pressure takes more control and we go to more isolated afternoon thunderstorms.

Tropical Storm Bertha 5 Day Forecast Track

Continue to watch what’s now Hurricane Bertha out in the Atlantic. She became a hurricane yesterday and continues a general northward track as a category 3 hurricane. At this point, it does not pose a threat to the United States and is a bit too soon to tell if it will affect Bermuda. We keep an eye out and keep you posted on the progress. But, rest assured the national media will make a big deal about this whether it affects us or not, it’s July, a slow news month, and a sweeps ratings month as well!
