Above, Mendi Goodwin shows the special of the day at her newly opened Vineyard Coffee House inside Flying Fox

“I wanted a latti or a cappuccino every now and then so I decided to open up the place!” That’s how Mendi Goodwin says she ultimately came up with the idea to place a coffee house inside the Flying Fox tasting room during the typically slower months of the year when many minds are on skiing. Not to worry, you can still buy wine, but Mendi approached owners Rich and Lynn Evans about opening the coffee house as an extension of Flying Fox. Up until recently many folks remember Mendi from the tasting room at Veritas Winery, She had been there for quite sometime prior to opening the coffee house. Her husband is still one of the chef’s at Veritas, so coming up with a few easy soup and sandwich ideas to compliment the coffee were a natural.

“We’re doing a lunch special of the day, so everyday might be something different. Anything from a Frito Chili Pie to a panini,” adds Mendi. In addition to the light lunch menu, Mendi is doing breakfast burritos and muffins too. “You’ve got Ashley’s, you’ve got Graves, they do really great breakfast sandwiches on biscuits and buns, but no one is doing a breakfast burrito,” says Mendi. They are serving three different kinds, bacon, mexican sausage, or a veggie burrito.

You can get your order to go, or sit down in front of the fire and enjoy!

Mendi says they will be open Monday through Saturday from 7 AM to 3PM.

    Stop by and see her!
