Newest NCL-Weathernet Station @ Hatcreek Farm
Roseland, Virginia
Above Heidi Crandall of Roseland shows off the latest station added to the NCL-Weathernet family. The install was completed on Tuesday afternoon. Heidi is great about sending us some fantastic pictures from time to time in her neck of the woods as well!
What a gorgeous day Tuesday turned out to be. After morning clouds, even some drizzle early, the afternoon ended up perfect. Great weather to finish up the installation of our newest addition to the NLC-Weathernet family. Tuesday afternoon we installed the NCL-Hatcreek Farm station on Horseshoe Mountain in Roseland. Steve and Heidi Crandall were nice enough to provide a location so we can now monitor weather on the other side of Brent’s Mountain. A big plus! As with any of the NCL Weathernet stations, you can get to it by clicking on the drop down menu on the upper left hand side of this web page. We’ll be working out any minor kinks on this station as it goes live over the next few days. They can be a little cranky on the front end! Thanks again to Steve and Heidi for filling in a big gap in that direction!
Now with a new station on the air, it would be wonderful if we could try out that new rain gauge with about 5 or more inches of rain over several days. unfortunately, that isn’t in the cards for the near future. The good thing though, October is generally a month of changing weather patterns and we usually end up with more rainy days later in the month as we transition from warmer to cooler weather especially entering November. But that’s a bit down the road.
Overnight Tuesday we had some drizzle just like the night before, but not anything to really do us any good. Over the extended forecast period, not much out there to provide relief precipitation wise, and temperatures will warm slightly as we go through the week headed toward the weekend. I do see a tiny window for showers Thursday into Friday, but right now only 20%. If conditions change slightly we could have better chances. Keep you posted.
