Today’s Forecast Map
The National Forecast Map shows high pressure to our north losing its grip and moving out into the Atlantic Friday. An approaching cold front along with leftover moisture from Tropical Storm Humberto what was Humberto, now just an area of disturbed weather and rain, will combine to give us rain Friday into Friday night. Showers may hang around for the first part of Saturday before clearing for the weekend.
Before we get tear off into the thick of it today want to say thank you to Chuck Strauss. He sent us the nice comment below in e-mail last night saying:

OK, this morning’s weather podcast was a fantastic lesson in proper Spanish

Hey Greg, I need to watch out, she’s a whole lot better looking & sounding than I am. Before long folks will be wanting her on all the time!
Thursday was another really nice day across most of Virginia. We did see some clouds streaming in from time to time in advance of an approaching system, but all in all the day was a nice one. By dark thicker clouds worked their way in. Friday expect mostly cloudy skies with showers and perhaps a thunderstorm developing in the afternoon. Showers will continue into Friday night and linger a bit Saturday morning before clearing out for the weekend. Then … look for nice fall like temperatures. By the way, fall is not far off, officially beginning on September 23rd.
We continue to monitor Tropical depression #8 now Tropical Storm Ingrid as of Thursday night, way out in the Atlantic. As of Thursday night there wasn’t much was some minor increasing change in the strength, however it still has the potential to form into a tropical storm within the next 24-48 hours Has formed into a tropical storm. Beyond that we’ll have to see. #8 Ingrid may encounter some conditions that tend to tear it down around days 3-4 …if it makes it past that without falling apart, then we may see it emerge as a hurricane. As I always say, it’s a prediction. We saw what Humberto just did in Texas, so never say never with these things.
Projected 5 day path
Speaking of Tropical Storm Humberto, he briefly became a hurricane before becoming a tropical storm once again, and now nothing more than an area of rain across the Southeast US. He continues to spread heavy, heavy rain along the gulf statesin the southeast. Though we won’t have absolute direct effects from former Humberto, some of the moisture being pulled up will make it here and combine with that approaching cold front.
