Veritas Starry Nights Finale for the 2007 Season
Afton, Virginia
Above, the final Starry Nights bonfire of the season at Veritas Vineyard & Winery. This weekend signaled the end of the popular summer event.
What a great weekend across Nelson County and Central Virginia. Saturday night Veritas had its final Starry Nights for the 2007 season, it was a great evening with plenty of clear skies and pleasant temperatures. Not to worry Starry Nights 2008 will be back during the warm weather season next year!
Tropical Storm Gabrielle seen below is now on the way back out to sea. Unfortunately, it didn’t ever make it close enough to us to get any needed rainfall for the area. We do have a shot at some showers and thunderstorms over the coming week as a front makes it near the area later today and tonight before stalling out to our south and moving back north as a warm front. A secondary front pushes through the area later in the week giving us another chance for rain by Friday along with much cooler temps for daytime highs … we’re talking mid & upper 70’s.
Do want to bring your attention to a couple of other areas of interest below as well. There are two disturbances out in the Atlantic that I am watching for possible tropical storm development. Way, way too soon to know what they will do, but we’re keeping an eye on them and will you update accordingly throughout the week.
Tropical storm Gabrielle is headed out to sea and should not be a factor to as shown in the image below.
The two newest areas of a low pressure (Invest 91 & 92) disturbances out in the Atlantic.
