Above Deborah Harkrader takes information from Peter Agelasto to add his name to the petition being circulated to make improvements along Route 151. Agelasto also lives on Route 151 just south of Spruce Creek.

Over the past week a lot of activity has taken place regarding the August 30th wreck that killed a mother and her two daughters at the intersection of Route 151 and Greenfield Road. (Route 635) On Friday a committee met in Greenfield to organize an effort about getting much needed changes made along Routes 151 & 6 through the Rockfish Valley. Much has taken place and you will be reading about other ways you will be able to get involved in the effort to improve safety along Route 151. Over the coming weeks an official non profit organization is being formed with a governing board of directors. This organization will have the teeth needed to finally get something done about the unsafe situation along Route 151 and Route 6 to 29.

Here another person adds their name to the petition at Deborah’s booth.

Everything is in the organizational phase, but this will be a tremendous opportunity for everyone living in and near Nelson to have a part in finally instituting changes along 151.

Be looking for more to follow in the coming weeks.
