Cow on the inflatable trampoline
Wintergreen Mountain, Virginia
Okay I must admit I have no clue why this cow was on the inflatable trampoline at Wintergreen Resort????? I suspect they were doing some construction or cleaning and it was the most handy place to park the fake cow for a bit. But it got my attention! Moo!
Thursday was a mixed bag of weather across Nelson County. Some folks saw no rain, others got a little bit. I was up on the mountain having lunch at Wintergreen with Paul Purpura, our NCL photographer, and a pretty good rain came up about the time I was leaving. I was over at Devil’s Knob just before leaving and there was a brief heavy rain and some pretty good wind gusts. The threat of severe weather loomed for much of Thursday afternoon and early evening, but all watches had been dropped by 7:45 PM and no warnings were ever issued for our immediate area.
Much milder and pleasant weather is on its way, with a tremendous weekend shaping up!

The current surface map continues to show a frontal boundary working its way through the area today. Until it’s moved well south expect variably cloudy skies from time to time with passing showers early. We should see more sun after the noon hour as the day wears on with clearing skies and sunny conditions moving in by lunch.
Current-Sat Surface Map
The National Forecast Map, shows the front moving through the area bringing cooler drier air for the weekend.
